“We have every reason to believe that soon, United Nigeria Airlines will follow suit,” he stated confidently.

Acknowledging the challenges faced by Nigerian operators, Okonkwo underscored the industry’s resilience, stating, “No matter the hurdles, we persevere.”

While recognizing the potential hurdles from foreign competitors, Okonkwo urged Nigerians to rally behind their own airlines, especially Air Peace, and forthcoming operators.

“We must brace ourselves for challenges but stand united in support of Air Peace and other local carriers,” he urged.

Okonkwo also praised the efforts of Minister of Aviation Festus Keyamo, particularly his initiatives to facilitate aircraft acquisition for local airlines. He further advocated for a dedicated foreign exchange mechanism to ease monthly payments for leased aircraft.
