  • Secondus retaliates against Wike’s accusations, criticizing him for spreading half-truths and outright falsehoods to deceive the public
  • Wike labeled Secondus and Sekibo as “expired politicians”; Secondus fires back, condemning Wike’s remarks as unfortunate and misleading

The ongoing crisis within the Rivers State chapter of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has escalated as former National Chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus, fired back at the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Nyesom Wike, accusing him of spreading half-truths.

Wike, in a recent interview, labeled Secondus and former Minister of Transportation, Abiye Sekibo, as “expired politicians” for aligning with State Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

In response, Secondus, through his media Aide, Ike Abonyi, criticized Wike for being a “harbinger of half-truths” and a master of “outright falsehoods” aimed at deceiving the public.

Last week, Secondus, Sekibo, Senator Lee Maeba, Celestine Omehia, and Austin Opara declared their support for Fubara and urged President Bola Tinubu to intervene and rein in Wike’s activities in the state.

Secondus further lambasted Wike as “a showman known for his double-speak, distortion of facts for political gain, and someone who manipulates the truth.”

During the interview, he deemed Wike’s remarks as “unfortunate,” particularly for disparaging the revered political leaders of Rivers State by branding them as “transitional politicians, political vampires, and political buccaneers.”

The statement concluded with Secondus suggesting that in his haste to attack these elders, Wike overlooked that he was implicating himself with such unwholesome character traits.
