  • Declan Rice views Arsenal’s Champions League clash with Bayern Munich as a chance to bounce back from defeat
  • After loss to Aston Villa, Arsenal aims to show resilience in crucial Champions League quarter-final second leg

Declan Rice sees Arsenal’s Champions League quarter-final showdown with Bayern Munich as the ideal opportunity for the Gunners to bounce back from their defeat to Aston Villa.

After a 2-0 loss to Unai Emery’s side at the Emirates Stadium, where Leon Bailey and Ollie Watkins secured victory for Villa, Arsenal are trailed in the Premier League race.

Former Arsenal manager Emery dealt a blow to his old club’s title aspirations in his first return to the Emirates Stadium as Villa’s manager.

Arsenal, now sitting second in the league, two points behind Manchester City, had a chance to reclaim the top spot with a win. However, they must swiftly regroup as they head to Germany for the crucial second leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Bayern Munich.

With the tie finely balanced following a 2-2 draw in the first leg, Rice believes this high-stakes encounter presents the perfect opportunity for Arsenal to showcase their resilience and character after a rare setback.

“It’s the perfect game for a reaction. We need a reaction on Wednesday night, and it is a great chance to show our character and leadership. It’s time to go out there and hopefully reach the semi-finals of the Champions League,” Rice remarked.

Facing Bayern at the Allianz Arena promises to be a memorable occasion. Rice emphasizes the importance of Arsenal stepping up and demonstrating why they deserve to be in contention for silverware.
