  • Manchester United stated that Ten Hag would only continue as the manager of the team after this season if he takes a heavy pay cut

Manchester United has revealed the next line of action on if manager, Erik ten Hag, will remain at the club or not.

The club said Ten Hag will only continue as the manager of the club under one condition.

Manchester United stated that Ten Hag would only continue as the manager of the team after this season if he takes a heavy pay cut.

According to ESPN, Ten Hag will take a substantial 25 percent pay cut at Old Trafford, following the team’s likely failure to secure qualification for the Champions League.

The Dutchman, who signed a three-year contract with the Red Devils after he joined from Ajax in May 2022, is under pressure with the team languishing in seventh place on the table.

United have had rough, bleak and uninspiring season, a situation that sees them trailing four placed team, Aston Villa, by 16 points.

The report however claims that United’s revamped football hierarchy, led by minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS, has been actively shopping potential replacement for Ten Hag.

Prospective candidates include England’s Gareth Southgate, Bayern Munich’s Thomas Tuchel, Brighton’s Roberto De Zerbi, Brentford’s Thomas Frank, and Wolves’ Gary O’Neil
