Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, addressed systemic issues undermining the nation’s justice system during the National Summit on Justice in Abuja.

Ariwoola identified corruption, inefficiency, and undue influence as significant challenges that must be addressed urgently to restore the integrity of the justice system.

He emphasized the importance of upholding the judiciary’s independence and impartiality, highlighting its crucial role in maintaining democracy and ensuring the rule of law.

Ariwoola stressed the need for holistic sector reform to meet the public’s expectations. He called for a thorough examination of the legal framework to identify and address gaps and inconsistencies hindering the efficient administration of justice.
