Former Abia Assembly Speaker, Chinedum Orji, quits PDP

Former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chinedum Orji, has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Orji, who is the son of former Governor Theordore Orji, announced his exist from the party on Monday.

He said he took the decision after wide consultation without further elaboration.

The brief message announcing his decision read; “After careful consultation and personal decision, I have decided to exit the PDP, It’s time to move on with our lives” he said while announcing his resignation from the PDP.

His resignation of the PDP membership is the latest in the gale of defection that has hit the party in recent months as prominent members continue to jump ship citing internal crisis rocking the party for their moves.
