Nigeria’s Defence Minister, Mohammed Badaru, has declared that the country will no longer condone crude oil theft and illegal refining, describing them as grave offenses.

Speaking at the 13th national security seminar organized by the Alumni Association of the National Defence College in Abuja, the minister emphasized that the constitution grants the government the authority to manage the nation’s resources and utilize them for the betterment of the country, as stipulated in Section 16.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to protecting its resources and promoting national prosperity.

“Such crimes will not be tolerated in any form and at any time or level, and this extends to other natural resources across the nation,” Mr Badaru said.
