  • Former Minister of Power, Abubakar D. Aliyu, denies engaging in media interviews post-office departure, urging public to disregard fabricated reports
  • Aliyu clarifies that interviews attributed to him are unauthorized and fabricated, urging news outlets to verify information before dissemination

Engr Abubakar D. Aliyu, the immediate past Minister of Power, has debunked assertions that he participated in any media or blog interviews following his departure from office on May 29, 2023. He urged the public to dismiss any interviews attributed to him regarding the power sector.

Aliyu clarified, “I wish to clarify that I have not engaged in any media interviews since stepping down from office about a year ago. The interviews purportedly conducted by certain blogs and news platforms using my name and image are entirely fabricated and unauthorized.”

In an official statement released by his media office, his media office urged the public to disregard the circulating interviews while an investigation is ongoing.

The statement emphasized, “In one instance, an interview conducted by a television station featuring another former Minister of Power, who shares a similar surname with me, was inaccurately credited to Engr Abubakar D. Aliyu.”
