President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has penned a letter to the House of Representatives, calling for the preparation and endorsement of a N24.6 billion Promissory Note to reimburse Nasarawa and Kebbi States for the expenses incurred on their airports, which the Federal Government took over.

Under this request, Nasarawa State is slated to receive N9.5 billion in reimbursement, while Kebbi State is set to receive N15.1 billion.

The President’s communication, relayed by Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu during Thursday’s Plenary, cited the takeover of the airports as being by Item 3 of the Second Schedule of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), which places the ownership of airports and other aviation-related infrastructure under the exclusive list.

Additionally, President Tinubu presented an Executive Bill, the National Anti-Doping Bill 2024, to the House for consideration. This proposed legislation aims to establish an agency in Nigeria to ensure compliance with international doping regulations and standards.

Furthermore, in a separate communication, President Tinubu requested the approval of a supplementary budget for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) for the 2023 fiscal year.
