  • Innoson Vehicles Manufacturing Company plans to produce 30,000 CNG-powered buses and trucks annually at a new plant
  • Innoson collaborates with the University of Nigeria to produce tractors, supporting mechanized farming and boosting the agricultural sector

Based in Nnewi, Innoson Vehicles Manufacturing Company Ltd (IVM) has announced plans to produce 30,000 buses and trucks powered by Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) annually. This production will occur at a new, multi-billion naira plant, which is nearing completion and expected to be commissioned soon.

Innoson is a Nigerian pioneer in manufacturing CNG-powered buses and is expanding its production capabilities to include farm tractors. This initiative is part of a collaboration with the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), to construct a facility that produces tractors and other agricultural implements.

Dr. Innocent Chukwuma, Chairman of Innoson Group, confirmed that the new factory can produce 30,000 CNG vehicles annually in a single shift. He emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting the agricultural sector by providing the necessary equipment for mechanized farming.

The announcement came in response to an appeal from a group of farmers led by Chief Ebere Orji Odi, who requested that Innoson produce tractors and related implements to enhance mechanized farming and boost the economy. The statement was issued by Mr. Alfred Nwosu, a media consultant and Director of Innoson Group.
