  • The federal government collaborates with health sector stakeholders to commence local manufacturing of pharmaceutical products in Nigeria
  • Minister praised Kachollom Daju’s dedication and commitment, recognizing her honorary fellowship by the West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacists

According to Kachollom Daju, the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, the federal government is making significant efforts to commence the local manufacturing of pharmaceutical products in Nigeria.

Daju made this announcement in Abuja during an ‘industry evening of honours’ event organized for her in recognition of her honorary fellowship awarded by the West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacists.

She emphasized that the ministry is collaborating with stakeholders in the health sector to provide quality services, achieve universal health coverage, and enhance the local manufacturing of essential pharmaceutical products.

Prof. Ibrahim Adekunle Oreagba, Secretary General of the West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacy, noted that the honorary fellowship given to Daju is typically reserved for heads of state within the sub-region, highlighting the significance of her achievement.

Dr. Tunji Alausa, Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, praised Daju for her diligence, hard work, and commitment to transparency and fairness as the ministry’s permanent secretary.

Dr. Fidelis Anyebae, founder and CEO of Fidson Healthcare Plc. and chairman of the event, encouraged Daju to continue advancing the pharmaceutical sector executive order, emphasizing that her recognition signifies the need for continued efforts to improve healthcare for the people.
