An Abuja-bound train from Kaduna has reportedly derailed halfway to the nation’s capital on Sunday, leaving dozens of passengers stranded.

According to DAILY TRUST, the train, which departed Kaduna was expected to arrive in Abuja in the morning but derailed at Jere about an hour later.

The train, which had dozens of passengers onboard, derailed at Jere, a mountainous area, causing chaos and confusion among the passengers.

The cause of the derailment is yet to be determined, but an investigation is currently underway.

Currently, efforts are being made to repair the train, with about three carriages off the tracks.
