  • Earlier, Olusegun Dada, special assistant to President Bola Tinubu on social media, insisted that there are no issues with the president.
  • Dada explained that Tinubu only missed his steps.

The Presidency has defended President Bola Tinubu amid reactions over his fall at the Eagles square on June 12.

On Wednesday, Tinubu missed his steps and fell while climbing the parade vehicle at the Eagle Square in Abuja.

The president momentarily lost his footing but quickly regained his balance with support from his aide-de-camp (ADC).

Reacting in a post on his X page, Bayo Onanuga, special adviser on information and strategy, to President Bola Tinubu, said his principal is not a superman, adding that he’s like other human beings.

Onanuga recounted that President Joe Biden of the United Statesand former President Barack Obama once slipped.

The presidential aide said Tinubu’s slip should not distract Nigerians from the importance of the Democracy Day celebration.

“President Tinubu is not a Superman. He is human like all of us. President Biden has had several slips in the last three years. Even the younger Barack Obama slipped while President,” Onanuga wrote.

“Political leaders are human. Slipping should not detract from the import of Democracy Day celebration.”
