  • General Musa reaffirms military’s commitment to democratic governance and predicts imminent victory over terrorists in Nigeria
  • He emphasizes the Armed Forces’ dedication to upholding the constitution and collaborating with national institutions for constitutional governance

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, has reiterated that the military is steadfast in its support for and reinforcement of democratic governance in Nigeria, affirming that victory over terrorists is on the horizon.

General Musa made these assertions in his Democracy Day address, highlighting the ongoing sacrifices of military personnel in various operational theatres across the country as a testament to their dedication to Nigeria’s unity.

In a statement signed by Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, Director of Defence Information, the CDS urged all personnel to uphold democratic principles, protect citizens’ rights, and ensure a peaceful and secure environment nationwide.

The statement reads in part: “General Musa reaffirms the unwavering commitment and loyalty of the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the President, Commander-in-Chief.”

The military chief also called on all Nigerians to maintain optimism in the face of challenges and to extend support to the AFN in combating terrorism and criminal activities.
