  • No fewer than four Nigerians died in Makkah recently

A female pilgrim from Kaduna State, Hajiya Asma’u Muhammad-Ladan, passed away at King Fahad Hospital in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, on Friday after a brief illness.

This was stated by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Malam Yunusa Muhammad-Abdullahi, in a press release issued to newsmen in Arafat on Saturday.

While the PRO did not mention her local government of origin, he noted that the deceased was registered at the agency’s headquarters.

The statement said the family of the late pilgrim had been notified, adding that the management and staff of the agency commiserated with them over the death of Hajiya Asma’u.

According to Muhamamda-Abdllajhi, the Kaduna State Pilgrim Welfare agency prayed to Allah (SWT) to have mercy upon the deceased’s soul, forgive her sins and comfort her family over the irreparable loss.

Recall that two additional pilgrims from Kwara State, Salman Alade and Ayishat Ologele, have reportedly died while on pilgrimage in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

Their deaths followed that of two other pilgrims, Saliu Mohammed, who arrived with the third batch of the state contingent, and Hawawu Mohammed, which were reported in Madinah.

The latest report took the death toll among the Kwara pilgrims to four.
