  • Lagos police confirmed that the managing director of Fouani Company and three Lebanese brothers remain in captivity after being kidnapped
  • The kidnappers, who demanded a $1.5 million ransom, have not made further contact, leaving the police with a grim outlook

The Lagos State police have confirmed that the managing director of Fouani Company and three of his Lebanese brothers remain in captivity.

The incident occurred on Friday when the victims, employees of Fouani Nigeria Ltd, the sole distributor of LG, Hisense, and Maxi products in Nigeria, were travelling by boat from Apapa to Victoria Island.

The brothers, Abbas Fouani, Youssef Fouani, and Amtal Fouani, were abducted around 6 pm near the Folomo bridge. The kidnappers, who were in two speedboats, have demanded a ransom of $1.5 million from the families.

A police source, wishing to remain anonymous, expressed a grim outlook, stating, “There is no hope in sight as the kidnappers have not made contact again since yesterday.”
