The Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Defence, Honourable Babajimi Benson, has commended the Nigeria military for their recent successes against insurgents and criminal elements.

This was contained in a statement signed in Abuja by Benson himself.

He highlighted the bravery, professionalism, and unwavering commitment of military personnel in safeguarding the nation.

The military’s achievements are a testament to their resilience and sacrifice.

Troops under the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) have delivered significant blows to terrorist groups in the Lake Chad Region.

In a recent operation, several terrorists were neutralized, and 34 women and children were rescued from insurgents.

The Chairman praised the military’s strategic prowess and dedication.

The Nigerian Army, in collaboration with other security agencies, has intensified efforts against the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed wing, the Eastern Security Network (ESN).

Troops raided and cleared IPOB/ESN camps in the Umudi Forest and Umuaku areas, liberating communities from miscreants and terrorists.

The Nigerian Navy Ship Soroh discovered and deactivated an illegal refining site in Bayelsa State, containing stolen crude oil and illegally refined AGO.

This operation showcases the Nigerian Navy’s proactive efforts to protect national assets and ensure sustainable management of natural resources.

The Nigerian Air Force carried out impressive airstrikes in Katsina State, eliminating over 80 terrorists.

These strikes have significantly disrupted terrorist activities, enhancing the safety of several communities.

The House of Representatives remains committed to supporting the Armed Forces, providing necessary resources and legislative backing.

The Chairman assured the military of the House’s unwavering support, prioritizing their welfare, training, and equipment needs.

Hon. Benson urged citizens to continue supporting and appreciating the Armed Forces, acknowledging their sacrifices and contributions to national security.

He called on Nigerians to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies to ensure a safer and more secure Nigeria.
