Kylian Mbappe was named to the French bench for Friday’s Euro 2024 match against the Netherlands, four days after breaking his nose in Les Bleus’ opening win over Austria.
On Thursday, Mbappe trained in a mask inspired by the colours of the French flag, but Didier Deschamps did not put him at risk.
If either side wins in Leipzig, they will advance to the round of 16.
Mbappe’s future availability in the tournament was initially questioned after he was injured in a collision with Austrian defender Kevin Danso’s shoulder during France’s 1-0 victory on Monday.
However, the 25-year-old did not require surgery and could be involved later in the game as he aims to break his duck at the European Championships.
