  • The appointment has now brought the numbers of appointed aides to 194

Governor Kefas Agbu of Taraba State has again approved the appointment of additional 61 special aides.

The governor made this known to newsmen on Wednesday in Jalingo, the state capital, through a statement made available by the Secretary to the State Government (SGS), Barrister Gebon Timothy Kataps.

The appointment has now brought the numbers of appointed aides to 194.

A list of 133 aides , it would be recalled, had last week been made public by the state, among which contained the name of the former chairman of Takum Local Government Area (LGA), Shiban Tikari, who was declared wanted by the state police command.

The name of the ex-chairman was however observed to have been removed from the entire list following the outcry that emanated from the people of the state.
Among the appointees, The Guardian noticed, are two members of the correspondent chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ): Justice Tyopuusu of The PUNCH Newspaper and Janet Audu of the Daily Independent.

Elated by the development, the duo, in separate interviews with The Guardian, vowed to put in their best to assist the governor in actualising his dreams to catapult the state to the highest

Also speaking, the chairman of the correspondent Chapel, Gebriel Yough, reiterated the commitment of the members to assist the governor in projecting the good image of the state to the international community.
The Guardian reports that the governor is yet to assign the appointees portfolios.
