  • Aliko Dangote emphasized that “no power, no growth, no prosperity” at the MAN Summit, stressing the need for affordable financing and industrial protection
  • Social media reactions varied, with users urging Dangote to invest in power infrastructure and calling for favourable energy policies

Nigerians on social media have responded to Aliko Dangote’s statement that “no power, no growth, no prosperity.” The President of Dangote Industries Limited made this remark during a speech at the Manufacturers’ Association of Nigeria (MAN) Summit in Abuja. He emphasized that dependency on imports leads to poverty and job loss and that affordable financing and industrial protection are essential for growth.

Reactions to Dangote’s bold statement varied. An X user, Udufirstson, commented, “Development is built on electricity; no nation can progress without power. However, Nigerians prioritize tribalism over addressing real issues.”

Another user, Nwandu, urged, “Baba, invest in power infrastructure and lobby for favourable energy policies.”

Similarly, Mustapha Salaha invited Dangote to explore opportunities within the power sector for growth and prosperity.

Nura Tasiu described Dangote’s statement as “absolutely accurate,” Donald encouraged more investors to speak up, saying, “Aliko, I wish you had been speaking up like this for a long time. Keep it up.”

Seyi Stevens added, “If any government in Nigeria can fix electricity to 100 percent, it will solve over 50 percent of economic problems. Nigerians are hardworking and ready to thrive with basic infrastructure.”
