  • The Super Eagles will face the Cheetahs of Benin Republic again in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers, following their recent 2-1 defeat in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers
  • Nigeria, Benin, Rwanda, and Libya have been drawn in Group D for the 2025 AFCON qualifiers, with the top two teams qualifying for the tournament in Morocco

The Super Eagles will get another shot at redemption against the Cheetahs of Benin Republic in Abidjan, as both teams have been drawn together in Group D of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The draw, which took place yesterday, sets the stage for both teams to compete for a spot among the 24 nations set to play in the 35th Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled for Morocco from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.

Nigeria, placed in Pot 1 before the main draw, will face Benin, Libya, and Rwanda in Group D. Only the top two teams will advance to the AFCON finals.

Interestingly, Nigeria is also competing against Benin and Rwanda in Group C for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
