The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has issued a stern warning to corps members, stating that the scheme will not tolerate criminal behavior.
In a statement, the NYSC urged corps members to adhere to its rules and regulations, exhibit good conduct, and serve as responsible ambassadors for their families and alma mater.
Speaking at the Edo and Delta state orientation camps, NYSC Director-General Yushau Ahmed cautioned corps members against engaging in hard drug use, fraud, cybercrimes, and hooliganism.
He emphasized that such vices can harm their future prospects.
Ahmed encouraged corps members to participate in all camp activities designed to foster personal growth and development.
He implored the NYSC members to maintain a clean and hygienic environment, and prioritize their safety and security.
In Edo State, 1,478 corps members (594 male and 884 female) are actively contributing to the Orientation Course’s success, according to Ben-Ushie Frances, NYSC coordinator.
Olusegun Alao, NYSC state coordinator, reported that 1,933 corps members (811 male and 1,122 female) have been registered in both Edo and Delta states, highlighting the cordial relationship among camp officials.
