  • The meeting comes on the heels of the crisis rocking the party.
  • It also comes at a time when the party is preparing for the governorship election in Edo and Ondo states.

Bala Mohammed, Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum, has declared that the party will reclaim all leadership positions currently held by other parties.

Speaking at the forum’s meeting in Enugu on Wednesday, Bala, who is also the governor of Bauchi, emphasized the need for the party to strategize and share ideas on advancing the party and the nation.

The meeting, which brought together PDP governors, stakeholders, and party officials, aimed to unify the party, discuss internal issues, and provide a credible alternative to Nigerians.

Bala stressed that the country is headed towards anarchy, but the PDP will not allow it, given their shared history and aspirations for Nigeria.

He expressed gratitude to Peter Mbah, Governor of Enugu, for his hospitality and praised him for organizing a successful meeting.

The governors in attendance included Siminalayi Fubara (Rivers), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Umo Eno (Akwa-Ibom), and others.

In February, Bala had stated that the PDP is ready to provide Nigerians with a better alternative and urged party members to close ranks and be strategic in preventing Nigeria from becoming a one-party state.
