The Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has condemned recent attacks on Peter Obi by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, stating the incitement against Obi will fail.

MASSOB urged Onanuga and the government to focus on alleviating hunger and economic hardship in Nigeria.

MASSOB emphasised that protests against the high cost of living and government corruption are not orchestrated by Obi or his supporters but are driven by widespread public discontent.

The group accused Northern political elites of attempting to regain power in 2027, using these protests for their own interests.

MASSOB described Peter Obi as a nationalist and a symbol of modern democracy in Nigeria, celebrating his contributions to national unity despite their belief in Biafra’s restoration. The statement was issued by MASSOB leader, Comrade Uchenna Madu.

“The heavy and massive incoming protest against hunger, high cost of living, government high corruption, impunity and government insensitivity against the welfare of the citizens is not planned or orchestrated by Mr. Peter Obi or his nationwide supporters.

“The federal government of Nigeria led Bola Ahmed Tinubu knows that the protests are motivation or influenced by Mr. Peter Obi but the Northern oligarchic leaders which includes some powerful Northern political, religious, opinion and traditional leaders.

“The primary aim of these Northern political bourgeoisies is not for the interest of poor Nigerian masses but for their advancement plot to hijack power back to Arewa interest in 2027. It is not about Mr. Peter Obi or his supporters interest.

“My Bayo Onanuga and Omokiri are two leading internal and external figures sponsored by the Bola Ahmed Tinubu led Federal government of Nigeria in waging wars of character assassination, blackmailing and incitement against Mr. Peter Obi.

“MASSOB sees Mr. Peter Obi as a true nationalist and detribalized, the hope of the common citizens. He is being celebrated nationwide as the hero of modern democracy in Nigeria.

“Though MASSOB believe in Biafra restoration, we acknowledged the input of Mr. Peter Obi in advancement of uniting the Nigeria state”, MASSOB said in a statement issued by its leader, Comrade Uchenna Madu.
