The Northern Comrades Movement of Nigeria (NCMN) has announced its full support for the upcoming nationwide #EndBadGovernance protest.

In a press statement on Wednesday, the group’s national chairman, Mal. Jabir Ibrahim Yaro, described the protest as a crucial effort to save the country’s democracy.

The NCMN highlighted the unacceptable state of the nation, citing the numerous kidnapping incidents over the past year under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

The group continued: “Youths have become an abandoned constituency without opportunities leading to banditry, kidnapping and other social vices in the region, fuel scarcity and skyrocketing prices of goods and services are three times higher than they were four years ago, our currency are becoming worthless in value, millions of Nigerians are facing starvation due to rising food prices and scarcity, intimidation of rights, including freedom of speech and association has become the subject of the day.

“As youth, we are catalysts of change and we must protest in order to call the attention of the Federal Republic of Nigeria under this administration demanding an improved governance, economic empowerment of lives and properties and setting effective reforms mechanism.

“We call on well-meaning Nigerians, national, regional, grassroots youth and women organisations, and the general public to join this mass protest against imposed hardship, insecurity, hunger, abject poverty, and suppression of freedom of speech and association.

“Let us unite to demand action from the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to provide reforms mechanism addressing economic hardship in the country.”
