  • Tinubu had sent ₦70,000 minimum wage bill to national assembly last week
  • The Senate had also passed minimum wage bill on same day.

President Bola Tinubu has signed the newly approved national minimum wage into law.

The president assented to the bill on Monday, July 29, during the Federal Executive Council meeting attended by the members of the Cabinet and the leadership of the National Assembly.

On July 23, President Bola Tinubu sent a bill to the House of Representatives, proposing a new national minimum wage of ₦70,000 for Nigerian workers.

This move follows a recent agreement between the President and Organised Labour leaders, reached last Thursday, which established the new minimum wage amount.
