The Super Falcons of Nigeria bowed out of the women’s football event at the 2024 Olympic Games following a 3-1 defeat to Japan.

Japan settled down quickly into game pinning Nigeria back.

Goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie made a a superb save to deny the Japanese in the seventh minute.

Japan continued their dominance with Osinachi Ohale making a vital block nine minutes later.

The decision was however rescinded but the centre referee after a VAR review.

Nigeria finished bottom of Group C with zero point from three games.
