The same situation was reported in Port Harcourt, Rivers, Lagos, Sokoto and other states across Nigeria.

Economic activities in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT came to a standstill on Thursday following the commencement of the protest.

The ever-busy Berger Bridge and other places see a few vehicular movements. Banks and other financial institutions were also closed due to fear of attacks by hoodlums who may hijack the demonstration.

The popular Utako market was shut down, with several shops and plazas under lock and key.
