United States Republican Party presidential nominee, Donald Trump has agreed to debate his Democratic Party counterpart, Kamala Harris on September 4.

Trump announced this in a post via his Truth Social page on Friday.

“I have agreed with FoxNews to debate Kamala Harris on Wednesday, September 4th.

“The Debate was previously scheduled against Sleepy Joe Biden on ABC, but has been terminated in that Biden will no longer be a participant, and I am in litigation against ABC Network and George Slopadopoulos, thereby creating a conflict of interest,” the former president said.

The debate will be moderated by Fox News’ Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum.

In July, Harris announced her readiness to debate Trump after Fox News proposed the presidential debate for September 17.

Before Biden stepped down from seeking re-election and endorsed Harris on July 21, Trump said he would not debate her as she was not the official candidate of the Democratic Party.

However, the incumbent Vice President secured the party’s nomination for the November 2024 presidential polls on Friday.

Trump took a swipe at the ruling party, describing its replacement of Biden with Harris as a “coup”.

“I spent hundreds of millions of dollars, time, and effort fighting Joe, and when I won the debate, they threw a new candidate into the ring. Not fair, but it is what it is!” he stated.
