The Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Mr. Temitope Fashedemi, has inaugurated a technical working group aimed at developing a seamless nationwide database for farmers.

This initiative is designed to improve the identification of farmers and ensure targeted delivery of agricultural inputs and support.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Fashedemi noted that the ministry would collaborate with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) to achieve this goal. He emphasized that accurate data on farmers is crucial for shaping the future of Nigeria’s agriculture and enhancing food security.

Fashedemi also referenced the recent launch of the National Executive Committee on the Implementation of the Nigeria Farmers’ Soil Health Card scheme by the Minister of Agriculture. The scheme aims to boost agricultural productivity and secure the country’s food supply.
