The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, has expressed deep concern over the recent flooding in the Sabon Gari Local Government Area of Kaduna State, labeling the incident a tragedy.

The flood, which struck the Kogin Mata and Tudun Muntsira, Chikaji areas on Monday, was triggered by heavy rainfall, leading to widespread property damage and the displacement of numerous residents.

In a statement on Tuesday by his media aide, Musa Krishi, Abbas extended his sympathies to the victims and noted the devastation came at a time when many are struggling to sustain their livelihoods.

The Speaker called for immediate intervention to provide relief to the affected communities and urged residents to remain calm as the government addresses their needs. He specifically appealed to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to swiftly assist those impacted by the disaster.
