One Lucky Ugwauka has allegedly defiled his 10-year-old daughter in the Badagry area of Lagos State.
The 38-year-old man was arraigned by the police before Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
Ugwauka, who is charged with defilement, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
According to the prosecutor, Insp Ayodele Adeosun, the defendant committed the offence on Aug.16 at 6.00.p.m, at Abapasha St. in the Ojo area of Lagos.
Adeosun told the court that the defendant defiled his 10-year-old daughter and threatened to kill her if she revealed the sexual abuse.
He said the offence contravened the provisions of Sections 139, 263 and 58 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Patrick Adekomaiya, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Adekomaiya ordered that the sureties should be level 14 officers in the Civil Service.
He adjourned the case until Sept. 30 for mention
