  • ADC Chairman Ralph Nwosu criticizes APC’s “Renewed Hope” agenda as neglecting youth, mismanaging funds, and suppressing protests
  • Nwosu calls for youth empowerment, freedom, and urgent action to address Nigeria’s challenges and provide genuine hope

Ralphs Nwosu, the National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has expressed concern that the “Renewed Hope” agenda promised by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is increasingly turning into a state of hopelessness. He accused the Federal Government of neglecting Nigeria’s youth, which he believes is a major factor contributing to the country’s current challenges.

Nwosu made these remarks on Wednesday during the ADC Continental Youth Council (ADC CYC) inauguration at the party’s headquarters in Abuja. In his speech, Nwosu highlighted the importance of the youth, who comprise over 70% of Nigeria’s population, but criticized the APC government for showing little regard for them.

“Our youths drive the best things happening in this country. Our young people abroad positively project Nigeria, but here at home, a government that promised ‘Renewed Hope’ fails to recognize the potential of our young men and women,” Nwosu stated.

He emphasized that the ADC strongly believes in empowering young Nigerians and allowing them to use their creativity to transform the nation and the continent. Nwosu also criticized the government for mismanaging funds, citing incidents like the lack of equipment for athletes during the Olympics. “Meanwhile, we have a budget to build an N21 billion mansion for the Vice President, buy cars worth N180 million each for SUVs, and even purchase a new presidential jet,” he said.

The ADC Chairman further called for youth empowerment and freedom, pointing out that when young people recently tried to protest against poor leadership, the government spent large sums to suppress them. “Allow them the freedom. The ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda is becoming hopelessness,” he lamented.

Nwosu concluded by questioning the direction of the government’s ‘Renewed Hope Agenda,’ asking, “Where are the goalposts? What is the goalpost for your economic team, Aviation Minister, Tourism? Everything has collapsed.” He stressed that enough is enough, and urgent action is needed to address these issues and provide genuine hope to Nigerians.
