Six dead, three injured in Lagos-Ibadan Expressway crash

  • The accident happened when a speeding Toyota Sienna, with the number plate EPE 692 EL, rammed into the rear of a truck

Six people, including two men and four women, lost their lives in a crash along the Ogere axis of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Friday morning.

The accident, which occurred around 8 a.m., also left three others injured.

According to Florence Okpe, the Public Education Officer of the Ogun State Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the accident happened when a speeding Toyota Sienna, with the number plate EPE 692 EL, rammed into the rear of a truck. The impact resulted in the fatalities and injuries.

The injured were taken to Patmag Hospital in Ogere, while the bodies of the deceased were moved to the FOS IPARA Morgue. The truck involved in the crash did not stop after the incident.

The Ogun FRSC Sector Commander, Akinwumi Fasakin, expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and emphasized the importance of caution and concentration while driving to prevent such avoidable accidents.
