Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has extended the remote work policy in response to the challenges posed by the removal of the fuel subsidy.
The policy, which began on February 28, allows state employees on grade levels 01 to 14 to work from home for two days each week, while those on grade levels 15 to 17 are granted one remote workday weekly.
The extension, effective from September 4, was confirmed in a circular signed by the Head of Service, Bode Agoro, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
Governor Sanwo-Olu highlighted that the initiative has boosted productivity across various government departments.
Meanwhile, filling stations operated by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) have raised petrol prices to over N850 per litre nationwide.
The report indicates that the increase follows a directive from NNPC management to adjust prices from N568 to N855 per litre immediately.
