NPFL Transfer Window Closes as Bendel Insurance FC Bolsters Squad with New Signings for 2024-25 Season

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) transfer window closes today, as the league announced on Wednesday.

“NPFL 25 transfer window closes this Thursday, September 5,” the NPFL stated on X (formerly Twitter).

The transfer window, which opened on Monday, July 1st, 2024, allowed NPFL clubs to strengthen their squads for the 2024-25 season.

In a related development, Bendel Insurance Football Club of Benin unveiled 13 new players yesterday to bolster their squad ahead of the 2024/2025 NPFL season. According to a statement from the club’s Media Officer, Kehinde Osagiede, these new players are part of 18 signings made by the club, replacing 13 players who left at the end of the last season.

The Executive Chairman of the Edo Sports Commission, Olympian Yussuf Alli, emphasized the importance of discipline and focus as the recruits integrate with the existing team. He highlighted that team cohesion is crucial for a strong performance and for bringing pride to the state.

Alli expressed confidence in Coach Monday Odigie and his team’s potential for success in the upcoming season. He also challenged the new players to start the season with a strong performance by defeating Rivers United in their opening match on Sunday. Bendel Insurance is set to face Rivers United at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in their first game of the season.
