The Lagos state government has declared a temporary rerouting of traffic on the Eko bridge to facilitate renovation works.

In a statement released on Friday, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the Lagos transportation commissioner, revealed that the rerouting will begin on September 26 and will last for a period of eight weeks.

Osiyemi explained that the rerouting will be implemented in stages to reduce disruptions to motorists, emphasizing the need for drivers to cooperate with traffic officials and explore alternative routes during the renovation.

“The repairs will be carried out in four phases, during which the bridge will be intermittently fully or partially closed, depending on the work schedule,” he said.
