  • Manchester City’s hearing for 115 charges of financial rule breaches begins, with allegations spanning from 2009 to 2018 and denial from the club
  • The Premier League claims City failed to provide accurate financial information, while the club asserts its case is supported by irrefutable evidence

The hearing into Manchester City’s 115 charges for alleged breaches of the Premier League’s financial rules began on Monday.

The club was charged in February 2023 after a four-year investigation. The allegations claim that City breached financial rules between 2009 and 2018. However, Manchester City has denied all accusations, stating that their case is backed by a “comprehensive body of irrefutable evidence.”

The Premier League claims that City failed to provide “accurate financial information” that would give a true and fair view of the club’s financial position.

Since being taken over by the Abu Dhabi United Group in 2008, Manchester City has won eight Premier League titles, several domestic cups, and the UEFA Champions League.
