  • Viral report claimed that Lagbaja had submitted his resignation letter to President Bola Tinubu

The Nigerian Army has dismissed reports that the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Taoreed Lagbaja, has resigned.

An online report (not WITHIN NIGERIA) had claimed that Lagbaja had submitted his resignation letter to President Bola Tinubu.

The report claimed that his resignation came 24 hours after escaping an assassination attempt on his life.

It added that Lagbaja’s resignation has thrown the military hierarchy into a state of confusion.

“It is fake news; please disregard it,” he simply said.
