  • Governor Mai Mala Buni welcomed the delegation, highlighting the importance of solidarity between Niger and Yobe during challenging times

A group of traditional rulers from Niger Republic has paid a sympathy visit to Yobe State following recent floods and terrorist attacks in Mafa, which resulted in loss of lives and property damage.

Led by the Emir of Maine-Soroa, Abdou Katielou Katiella Gasso, the delegation expressed their condolences, highlighting the strong cultural, religious, and familial ties between the people of Niger and Yobe. “As good neighbours, we are obliged to stand by you during such trying moments,” the Emir stated, noting that any hardship in Yobe also affects Niger due to their shared heritage and intermarriages.

Governor Mai Mala Buni welcomed the visit and expressed gratitude for the show of solidarity. He praised the traditional rulers for maintaining historical ties between the two communities and stressed the need to strengthen these bonds further.
