  • Libya will host Nigeria at the Martyrs of Benina Stadium for the 2025 AFCON qualifying match, scheduled for October 15
  • Nigeria leads Group D with four points, while Libya sits at the bottom after a draw and a loss in previous matches

Libya, currently bottom of Group D, has chosen the Martyrs of Benina Stadium to host Nigeria in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying Matchday 4 clash. The stadium, located in Benina, 19 kilometers outside Benghazi, has a capacity of 10,000 and features an artificial pitch.

Before this encounter, the two teams will face off in Matchday 3 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, Nigeria, on Friday, 11th October, with kickoff scheduled for 5pm. The return match in Benina will take place on Tuesday, 15th October, starting at 8pm Nigeria time.

Libya has struggled in Group D so far, sitting at the bottom of the table. They played a 1-1 draw at home against Rwanda and suffered a 1-2 loss to Benin Republic in Abidjan. On the other hand, Nigeria tops the group with four points, following a 3-0 victory over Benin Republic in Uyo on Matchday 1 and a goalless draw with Rwanda in Kigali on Matchday 2.

Austin Eguavoen, the interim coach of the Super Eagles, will lead the three-time AFCON champions in the upcoming double-header against Libya.
