  • Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje announced that the APC will use strategies from the Edo governorship election to secure victory in Ondo
  • Ganduje emphasized the need for APC to dominate the South East, planning to extend their electoral strategies to Anambra and beyond

Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has revealed that the party will implement the strategy used in the Edo State governorship election to secure victory in the upcoming Ondo election on November 16. Ganduje, a former governor of Kano State, added that the APC would extend this template to Anambra and other Southeast states, currently under the control of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), in future elections.

Ganduje shared this during a victory celebration for Senator Monday Okpebholo, who recently won the Edo State governorship election while addressing party members in Abuja. He stressed that a party as large as the APC should dominate the Southeast region and encouraged party leaders to push harder to achieve this goal.

“We are already developing strategies to win these states. Anambra will follow next year. We have also launched a project to integrate the South East politically,” Ganduje explained. He noted that the APC currently controls two states in the region but aims to secure more, as “two is too small for a party like ours.”

In a related development, North Central APC elders, led by former Senate President Ameh Ebute, expressed confidence that the party will dominate the 2027 general elections. During a visit to the party’s national headquarters in Abuja, the elders congratulated Ganduje on his court victory, which upheld his position as APC chairman.

Ebute stated, “We are the first to congratulate you on securing Edo State for the APC. We believe in your leadership and your ability to elevate this party. With these successes, 2027 will be a breeze.”

Cesnabmilhilo Oken’oval, a former presidential aspirant who accompanied the delegation, added, “We are confident that under your leadership, the 2027 election will be a massive success.”

Commenting on his court victory, Ganduje dismissed the lawsuit challenging his chairmanship as baseless. He emphasized that the recent Edo election demonstrates the APC’s growing strength and expressed optimism about the party’s prospects in future elections, even when facing incumbent governments.
