Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has welcomed the opening of a UK visa application centre in the state, describing it as a significant benefit for residents of South-east and South-south Nigeria.

The British High Commission announced the launch of the facility in September 2023, making it the first in the region.

In a post on his X handle on Thursday, Governor Mbah expressed satisfaction with the “prompt and courteous services” provided at the centre following his visit.

“With this centre now in Enugu, people from the South-east and South-south no longer have to travel long distances to Lagos or Abuja for UK visa applications,” he noted. “I encourage everyone in these regions, and even from other parts of Nigeria, to take full advantage of this facility.”
