Manchester City midfielder Matheus Nunes has reportedly been arrested in Madrid for stealing a mobile phone. According to the Daily Mail, the Portuguese international was questioned after being accused of taking the phone at a nightclub in the early hours of September 8.

The incident occurred at La Riviera nightclub, where Nunes was allegedly involved in a dispute with a 58-year-old man who tried to take his photo without permission in the restroom.

In anger, the 26-year-old footballer reportedly took the man’s phone and refused to return it.

Spanish news outlet El Mundo reported that Nunes was arrested at around 5:30 a.m. after police were called to the scene.

The phone was found in his possession, leading to his detention and questioning at a local police station.

Nunes, born in Brazil, joined Manchester City two years ago from Wolverhampton Wanderers for €62 million. He has since been used as a rotational player under manager Pep Guardiola.
