Former Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro has revealed the reason behind his inactivity since leaving the Nigeria’s job.

Peseiro quit the position in February following the expiration of his contract.

The Portuguese guided the Super Eagles to second position at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.

The former Saudi Arabia and Venezuela coach said he is still waiting for the right project.

“I honestly don’t see myself coaching another team in Portugal, even though there are projects that I’m excited about,” Peseiro told Portuguese news outlet Ojogo.

“So far, it hasn’t happened. I’ve had offers to return to Portugal, once again, but I haven’t. It’s not because I don’t like the country or our football.”
