Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun hosted a gathering of former IGPs at the Force Headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday to gain from their vast experience and insights.

According to a statement from Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the meeting was part of IGP Egbetokun’s inclusion policy to strengthen the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).

Among the former IGPs present were IGP Aliyu Attah (retd.), IGP Sunday Ehindero (retd.), IGP Mike Okiro (retd.), IGP Mohammed Abubakar (retd.), and IGP Alkali Baba Usman (retd.).

The gathering was focused on fostering meaningful dialogue to enhance the effectiveness of policing in Nigeria. The former IGPs shared their experiences, offering valuable insights from their time in office and the evolution of policing strategies.

IGP Egbetokun praised the contributions of his predecessors, acknowledging that their efforts have built a solid foundation for the NPF. He highlighted how each former IGP played a crucial role in reforming and aligning the force with global standards.

The former police leaders also took the opportunity to engage with senior officers, including Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), Commissioners of Police (CPs), and other high-ranking members of the Force Headquarters, sharing their knowledge and addressing key issues in modern policing.
