  • Thomas Tuchel aims to lead England to success at the 2026 World Cup, focusing on making their dreams a reality
  • The former Chelsea manager expressed excitement about working with England’s talented squad while acknowledging the challenge of international football

Thomas Tuchel, the newly appointed head coach of England, is determined to lead the Three Lions to success at the 2026 World Cup. He states that his focus is on “making our dream come true.”

The 51-year-old German, who officially takes charge on January 1 after signing an 18-month contract, was announced as England’s new manager on Wednesday.

Tuchel, the former Champions League-winning coach, expressed his excitement about working with England’s talented squad. He humorously acknowledged his German heritage by saying, “I’m sorry I have a German passport.”

Initially uncertain about transitioning from club management to international football, Tuchel now looks forward to the challenge, especially with what he called a “very special and exciting group of players.”

Tuchel’s main task will be to guide England’s men to their first major trophy in 60 years, with hopes pinned on the 2026 World Cup.

He succeeds Gareth Southgate, who resigned after eight years in charge, following England’s defeat to Spain in the Euro 2024 final.

At his first media conference at Wembley, Tuchel said, “I quickly understood this is a big job. It feels like a privilege, and it brings out my passion for football. This role has reawakened the excitement I had as a young player.”

Tuchel assured fans that he and his team will work with passion and emotion, aiming to instill strong values, principles, and discipline as they pursue England’s World Cup dreams.
