The Presidency has made some clarification concerning the status of the ministers that are given the marching order as president Bola Tinubu cabinet underwent reshuffle.
Within Nigeria had earlier reported that Tinubu reshuffled his cabinet, a development that saw seven ministers lose their position.
Speaking on the development, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said ministers were not sacked but discharged.
Speaking with TVC, Onanuga said the term “sacked” does not perfectly capture their departure.
“Ministers were not sacked; they were discharged,” he said.

The cabinet reshuffle, announced on Wednesday, affected Uju-Ken Ohanenye (Women Affairs), Lola Ade-John (Tourism), Tahir Mamman (Education), Abdullahi Gwarzo (Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development), and Jamila Ibrahim (Youth Development).
