The decision of the club to shun the ceremony is not unconnected to reports that Vinicius won’t clinch the award.
Football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, had reported there won’t be any representative of Real Madrid at the ceremony.

Romano wrote on his X account: “BREAKING: Vinicius Jr will NOT travel to Paris as Real Madrid know he will NOT win the Ballon d’Or.
“No one from Real Madrid will attend the ceremony.
“No Florentino Pérez, no Vini Jr, no Carlo Ancelotti, no Jude Bellingham.”
