OPay Launches Scholarship Program to Support University of Ibadan Students

  • OPay partnered with the University of Ibadan to offer N300,000 scholarships to 20 students annually for the next decade, totaling N60 million

OPay, a leading financial services company, has partnered with the University of Ibadan (UI) to provide N300,000 scholarships to 20 outstanding students each year for the next decade, totalling N60 million annually.

Dotun Adekunle, Chief Operating Officer of OPay, announced that the scholarship program demonstrates the company’s commitment to promoting academic excellence and supporting the next generation of Nigerian leaders.

“Through these scholarships, OPay aims to deliver crucial financial aid to students who excel academically, demonstrate innovative thinking, and show a strong commitment to community service,” Adekunle stated.

University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kayode Adebowale expressed gratitude for the initiative, noting that it would ease the financial burden for recipients.

“This award celebrates the achievements of these 20 undergraduates and reflects OPay’s dedication to fostering future leaders,” he said. “Your support highlights the importance of investing in education and inspiring excellence. We are deeply thankful for this impactful partnership,” Adebowale added.

This scholarship program is part of OPay’s mission to empower Nigerian youth through education and development opportunities.
